Wellington Hockey is proud to announce our 2026 U21 Men’s and Women’s representative teams for the Invitational Educare Matariki U21 Tournament, taking place in Wellington from 4–6 July. With top emerging talent from across the country coming together in the capital, the tournament promises an exciting celebration of hockey, connection, and the spirit of Matariki.

Wellington Hockey is proud to announce the athletes selected for the 2026 Wellington U18 Men’s and Women’s Representative Teams. The teams will represent Wellington at the National U18 Tournaments from 5–11 July in Tauranga (Men) and Palmerston North (Women).

A 2:00pm update has confirmed all Fraser Park matches have been deferred due to weather conditions and the inability for teams to get to the venue, along with several NHS fixtures. All other matches are continuing, with further updates to be made as needed.

Wellington Hockey’s April School Holiday Programme delivered two action-packed days of skill development and fun, finishing with a World Cup-style tournament. A great opportunity for players to stay active and engaged over the holidays.

All Sunday fixtures will proceed as scheduled in PlayHQ following the latest update on Cyclone Vaianu. Conditions will be monitored throughout the day, with any decisions to suspend or abandon matches made by appointed officials in consultation with WHA, in line with Section 39 of the Open Grade Handbook.

Wellington Hockey congratulates the 21 athletes selected for the Junior Hockey League, taking place 13–18 April at King’s College, Auckland. The tournament brings together the country’s top emerging talent in a high-performance environment. We wish all our players the best as they represent their respected franchise on the national stage.

Wellington Hockey’s Intro to 11-a-side programme has wrapped up after four weeks of strong engagement, helping players build confidence and understanding of the full-field game. Participants are now well prepared to take these skills into the Secondary School Competition starting in May.
