Wellington Hockey’s After School Hockey Club (ASHC) is returning for Term 4, providing children in Years 1–6 with a fun and supportive environment to learn, play and develop their hockey skills.

Whether your child has played Funsticks, is already involved in junior hockey, or has never picked up a hockey stick before, ASHC is designed for all levels of experience.

Delivered by experienced coaches in partnership with local junior hockey clubs, the programme focuses on building fundamental hockey skills and confidence through games, activities and plenty of time with a stick and ball.

A fun introduction to hockey

The programme consists of six 45-minute sessions, with children grouped into Years 1–3 and Years 4–6.

All equipment is provided, including hockey sticks, balls and training equipment, so children can simply turn up and get involved.

Throughout the six weeks, participants will have the opportunity to develop their fundamental skills, stay active and make new friends in a fun, safe and inclusive environment.

Term 4 locations and dates

ASHC will be available at several locations across the Wellington region this term:

• National Hockey Stadium: Mondays, 12 October – 23 November

• Elsdon Park & Maidstone Park: Wednesdays, 14 October – 18 November

• Fraser Park & Kelburn Normal School: Thursdays, 15 October – 19 November

Sessions run from 3:30pm–4:15pm for Years 1–3 and 4:15pm–5:00pm for Years 4–6.

Whether it’s a child’s first introduction to hockey or an opportunity to keep developing after the junior season, After School Hockey Club is a great way to stay involved with the game during Term 4.
