Educare U21 Matariki Tournament
3-6 July, 2026
The Educare U21 Matariki Tournament is a key fixture on the Under-21 calendar, bringing together representative teams from across New Zealand. The tournament provides a valuable competitive environment, while also supporting development for players, coaches, umpires, and team staff and helping bridge the gap between Under 18s and the National Hockey Championships.
Jenny Hair Cup
31 August - 4 September, 2026
The Jenny Hair Cup is a Tier 3 Secondary School tournament designed to provide meaningful national-level competition for school teams. Held in Wellington, the event offers players the chance to experience tournament hockey, represent their schools, and continue their development in a supportive and competitive setting.
Ford National Hockey Championships
13-19 September, 2026
The Ford National Hockey Championships is New Zealand’s flagship domestic representative tournament. Hosted in Wellington in 2026, the Championships will see teams from across the country compete over a full week, delivering high-quality competition and showcasing the depth of talent within the sport.

Secondary School Umpires Briefing
22 April, 2026
A mandatory briefing for all umpires officiating in the Secondary School Competition. This session covers key expectations, competition-specific guidelines, and season updates to ensure consistency and confidence throughout the season. Attendance is required if you are intending on umpiring Secondary School matches.
Junior Umpire Launch Session
23 April, 2026
A welcoming introduction to umpiring for new and developing junior umpires in the Small Sticks Competition. This session covers the basics of game management, key rules, and what to expect on game day, helping first-time umpires feel confident, supported, and ready to get started. Parents are welcome to attend.

Secondary School Umpiring Refresher Course
29 April, 2026
A welcoming, practical session for anyone keen to try umpiring or refresh their skills before the school season. Open to all ages, from students to adults, this course covers the basics, builds confidence, and provides a supportive space to learn and ask questions before getting back out on the turf.
JUMP into Umpiring
2 May, 2026
This is a hands-on session for junior umpires, focused on building confidence, basic skills, and match awareness in a fun and supportive environment. The practical activities prepare participants to put what they’ve learned straight into action later that day in the Small Sticks Junior Hockey Competition.
