Keep developing your game this season! Registrations are now open for Wellington Hockey’s 2026 U13 and U16 In-Season Development Programme, offering quality coaching, skill development and game-based learning, along with opportunities to attend Lower North Island regional events later in the year.

Registrations are now open for players wishing to trial for Wellington's teams at the 2026 National Hockey Championship. With the tournament being hosted at the National Hockey Stadium this September, players have the opportunity to represent Wellington on home turf.

Wellington Hockey officials Viv and Steven Dyhrberg, alongside Technical Official Nylan Profitt, are heading to Europe later this year for the World Masters Hockey World Cup tournaments in Rotterdam and Brasschaat. The trio continue to build their international officiating experience following their involvement at the 2024 World Masters Hockey tournaments in Auckland.

Bringing a wealth of experience across high-performance, representative, and community hockey, these coaches will play a key role in developing the next generation of Wellington athletes both on and off the field.

The Wellington Masters Advisory Group has reviewed feedback from the 2026 National Masters Tournament Survey following the event in North Harbour. The survey highlighted strong pride in representing Wellington, while also identifying key areas for future improvement and development.

Wellington Hockey Association is excited to launch the new U16 National Hockey Tournament pathway for 2026, providing emerging athletes with the opportunity to compete on the national stage. Trials begin in June, with selected teams travelling to Auckland and Christchurch in October for the national tournaments.

The selections recognise some of Wellington’s most exciting emerging talent as they continue their journey within the national high-performance pathway.

Wellington Hockey congratulates Ruby Baker, Riana Pho, Julia Gluyas, Finn Ward, and Brad Read on their selection for the Vantage Black Sticks squads competing at the 2026 FIH Nations Cup tournaments. The Women’s Nations Cup heads to Auckland this June, bringing international hockey back to New Zealand for the country’s biggest international hockey event in nearly a decade.
