Last updated: Sunday, 12 April – 10:00am

SUNDAY FIXTURES TO PROCEED

Wellington Hockey can confirm that all Sunday fixtures will proceed as scheduled in PlayHQ, following the latest weather update from WREMO regarding Cyclone Vaianu.

Conditions will continue to be monitored throughout the day. If weather conditions deteriorate, any decision to suspend or abandon matches will follow the process outlined in Section 39 of the Open Grade Handbook.

Officials appointed to each match, in consultation with WHA, will determine if a match needs to be suspended or abandoned based on conditions at the venue.

Participants are encouraged to take care when travelling to and from venues.

Saturday, 11 April – 7:00pm

Wellington Hockey is closely monitoring the situation surrounding Cyclone Vaianu, which is expected to impact the Wellington region on Sunday 12 April.

Current forecasts indicate periods of heavy rain and strong winds across the region, with weather watches already in place. WHA is continuing to assess conditions in line with guidance from the Wellington Region Emergency Management Office.

At this stage, all scheduled Sunday matches will proceed as normal.

WHA will provide a further update at 10:00am on Sunday morning should there be any changes based on updated forecasts or official advice.

All participants are encouraged to keep an eye on WHA social channels for the latest information.
