The 2025 Open Grade Competition wrapped up with thrilling finals, close results, and an incredible atmosphere at NHS. Congratulations to our champions and a big thank you to the players, supporters, and officials who made the season such a success!

Our local club teams dominated the 2025 Intercity competition, winning five out of six titles across men’s and women’s grades in this premier Lower North Island tournament. Congratulations to all the teams that won their respective grades!

A rapid review of competition offerings for 2025 and beyond is underway, with clubs consulting on a potential 10-team format for Premier 2 and Premier 3. A vote is set for next Wednesday. Players should continue attending trials as usual and check with their club for any team placement implications.

Team registrations are now open for the 2025 Summer Hockey Fives Competition, starting February 4th. Choose from Fast Fives for competitive play, Fun Fives for social teams and beginners, or Family Fives for families with young kids. Games will be played on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at NHS, Fraser, and Elsdon, running until March 12th.
