Wellington clubs claimed five of six titles during the 2025 Intercity Hockey season.

The 2025 Intercity hockey competition has wrapped up with an exciting finish, showcasing the best of club hockey across the Lower North Island. The tournament features our Premier 1 teams competing against strong opponents from regions including Manawatu, Taranaki, Hawkes Bay, and Wairarapa.


This season, our local clubs dominated the competition, capturing five out of six Intercity titles. A fantastic achievement that highlights the depth and quality of hockey talent in our region.


Congratulations to this years champions in the Intercity Competition:


  • Tier 1 Men: WISC

  • Tier 2 Men: Vic Uni

  • Tier 3 Men: Northern United

  • Tier 1 Women: Toa

  • Tier 2 Women: Levin

  • Tier 3 Women: Northern


The Intercity competition continues to be a key platform for our local clubs to challenge themselves and play against different teams across the Lower North Island, and this year’s results demonstrate the strength of our hockey community.

Masters Teams Deliver Strong National Results

Our Masters teams delivered an outstanding week at the National Tournament, proudly fielding four women’s and six men’s sides, including our first ever Women’s 60s team. With two gold medals, two silvers and a number of strong top four finishes, it was a week that showcased the strength and spirit of our Masters community.
