Wellington Hockey is proud to congratulate Max Wallace, who has been named a finalist for Official of the Year at the 2026 Wellington Regional Sports Awards.
This recognition reflects Max's outstanding contribution to officiating in Wellington and the significant impact he continues to make both on and off the field.
A respected umpire and dedicated member of Wellington Hockey's Officials Working Group, Max is passionate about developing and supporting officials at every level of the game. Whether mentoring new umpires, delivering education opportunities, or officiating across community and representative hockey, his leadership, professionalism and commitment have helped strengthen officiating throughout the Wellington region.
Max's dedication to creating a positive environment for officials and players alike has made him a valued member of the hockey community, and this nomination is a fitting acknowledgement of the time and effort he invests in the sport.

Wellington Hockey’s After School Hockey Club is back for Term 4, giving children in Years 1–6 the chance to learn and develop their hockey skills in a fun, supportive environment. With six-week programmes running at venues across Wellington, all equipment is provided and sessions are suitable for complete beginners through to existing junior players.
