The Explore programme provided Year 7-8 athletes in Kāpiti and at NHS with a great start to the hockey season, focusing on skill development in small group settings. Over six weeks, players regained their touch, built confidence, and showed impressive growth.

The Junior Hockey League (JHL) kicks off today in Auckland, showcasing New Zealand’s top U21 talent in a fast-paced, five-day tournament. Wellington Hockey has athletes proudly represented across both Men and Women Falcons squads along with Lexie Etherington appointed as an umpire for the tournament.

Just Stick With It is a fun and inclusive program designed to encourage girls to get involved in hockey, build confidence, and make new friends in a supportive environment. After a successful first term, we’re excited to bring it back in Term 4 at Mana College.

In Term 1, our After School Hockey Club for Years 1–3 and 4–6 saw great growth and ended with a successful 'Bring a Friend Day'. We’re excited to continue the fun in Term 4!

Wellington Hockey Association has introduced a new Competition Environment Policy to address player misconduct, alongside updates to the Code of Conduct.

Thanks to a new partnership with Accountants Plus, who is now the NHS 2 Turf Sponsor, our community can enjoy twice as many live-streamed matches from both Cello NHS 1 and Accountants Plus NHS 2. All games are available to watch live or on-demand at HockeyNZ.tv.

It was an incredible start to the season at our Juniors "Have a Go" Day, with 60 participants enjoying perfect weather, trying new skills, and having fun in mini games and activities. A big thank you to everyone who came along – we can’t wait for the next one!
