The Explore programme has been an outstanding success over the past six weeks, giving young athletes a fantastic head start for the season ahead.
This programme, aimed at Year 7-8 athletes, was a perfect way to ease back into the hockey season. Across both Kāpiti and NHS, participants worked to regain their touch and start building the essential skills they’ll need for the upcoming season. After focusing on individual skill development in small group settings, it was amazing to witness significant growth in all aspects of their game!
What a great way to kick off the junior hockey season!

As the 2026 season begins, the focus will be on improving support, communication, and development opportunities for officials at all levels.
