Wellington Players Selected for 2025 Trans-Tasman Masters Challenge
Wellington Hockey is proud to announce that 48 players from our region have been selected to represent New Zealand at the 2025 Trans-Tasman Masters Challenge in Cairns, Queensland, from 13–17 May. The teams will showcase their skills in a series of matches against Australia, with all games live-streamed on LiveHockey.com.au.

Calling all junior umpires! Whether you're just starting out or looking to take your umpiring to the next level, JUMP (Junior Umpire Mentorship Programme) is here to help. This FREE programme offers coaching from senior umpires, providing guidance, feedback, and support to help you improve your understanding of the game, decision-making skills, and confidence.
JUMP is perfect for those umpiring junior teams in the Year 5/6 and Year 7/8 grades or secondary school U15 grade.

Little Sticks, Big Fun: Funsticks for Yrs 1&2
Join our 8-week Funsticks programme for children aged 5-6 years, perfect for those new to hockey! Focused on developing basic skills and building confidence through fun activities, this programme helps kids get active and engaged in sport.

Dates: May 3rd – June 28th (No session on Kings Birthday Weekend)
Times: Saturdays 8 AM - 8:45 AM (Fraser Park), 9 AM – 9:45 AM (NHS, Elsdon Park) | Tuesdays (Kelburn Normal School Turf) & Wednesdays (Maidstone Park) 4 PM – 4:45 PM
Cost: $60 for 8 sessions

Lexie Etherington Selected for Umpire Development Programme in Singapore
Lexie Etherington has been appointed to an umpire development programme in Singapore, designed for young women in umpiring, offering opportunities for match officiating, video analysis, and practical learning. This appointment is part of Hockey NZ’s strategy to promote development opportunities between New Zealand, Singapore, and Asia.
