On a hot and sunny Sunday at Fraser Park, the U11 Hockey Festival brought together players from all hubs for a day full of fun, friendly competition, and skillful play. Teams were created from our NHS, Fraser, and Elsdon hubs which were also joined by Wairarapa, who made the trip over the hill to take part in this special event. This festival marked the culmination of five weeks of dedicated practice, giving our young athletes the chance to showcase their progress and passion for the game. The day was filled with smiles as players enjoyed the opportunity to compete and connect with peers from across the region.
Wellington Hockey extends a big thank you to Wairarapa for traveling to join us, as well as to the coaches, umpires, and parents who played a vital role in making the day a success. From supporting the players to ensuring everything ran smoothly, their contributions were invaluable. The festival highlighted the spirit of teamwork and community that defines the sport, with everyone coming together to celebrate the growth and talent of our U11 players.
We are incredibly proud of how far these young players have come in their hockey journey and the effort they’ve put into developing their skills. Their enthusiasm and determination on the field were inspiring, and we can’t wait to see them in action again next season as they continue to grow and thrive.
