As we approach the business end of the hockey season, Wellington Hockey is pleased to be offering a Conflict Management & De-escalation Workshop, facilitated by Max Wallace, a member of the Officials Working Group.
With playoffs, finals and representative tournaments fast approaching, the workshop has been designed to equip participants with practical skills and strategies for managing challenging situations, de-escalating conflict, and communicating effectively under pressure.
While the session has been organised with officials in mind, it is open to the wider hockey community. Coaches, players, team managers, club volunteers, parents and anyone involved in hockey are encouraged to attend.
This interactive 90-minute workshop will explore:
Practical conflict management techniques
De-escalation strategies for difficult situations
Effective communication under pressure
Building confidence when dealing with challenging interactions
Creating a positive and respectful hockey environment
These skills are valuable for everyone involved in our game and can be applied both on and off the field.
