Wellington Hockey is proud to announce that our U18 Men’s and Women’s teams are heading away this weekend to compete in the Vantage National U18 Tournament, taking place from 29 June to 5 July. The U18 Men’s team will travel to Timaru, while the U18 Women’s Gold and Black teams will compete in North Harbour.
This week, each team came together for their shirt presentation, a special occasion that marks the final step in their preparation for the tournament. The Wellington U18 Men received their shirts from Umesh, who shared valuable insights and reflections from his own hockey journey. The U18 Women Gold team were joined by Amy, who presented the shirts and offered her experiences and advice to the players. The U18 Women Black team had their shirts presented by Kat, who spoke with the group and offered encouragement heading into tournament.
We would like to extend a sincere thank you to AccountantsPlus, who have generously supported both our Men’s and Women’s U18 teams. Thanks to their sponsorship, players were provided with new training tops for their final training session this week. It was a positive and awesome way to complete preparations before heading into the tournament.
We wish all our U18 players, coaches and team mangers the very best for the week ahead. The entire Wellington Hockey community is behind you.
Matches will be available to watch live on HockeyNZ.tv, with a tournament pass costing $15 for one tournament or $20 for access to both. Results and draws can be followed throughout the week on AltiusRT.
