Wellington Hockey would like to congratulate our Wellington athletes selected for the upcoming 2026 FIH Nations Cup tournaments representing the Vantage Black Sticks.
For the Women’s squad, congratulations to Ruby Baker, Riana Pho, and Julia Gluyas on their selection in the Vantage Black Sticks Women’s team for the 2026 FIH Hockey Women’s Nations Cup in Auckland. A special mention also to Ruby Baker who is set to make her senior international debut during the tournament.
The Women’s Nations Cup will be hosted at the North Harbour National Hockey Centre in Auckland from 15–21 June, bringing eight international teams to New Zealand for the country’s biggest international hockey event in nearly a decade. The Vantage Black Sticks Women enter the tournament as defending champions and will look to go back-to-back on home soil in front of home fans.
We encourage the Wellington hockey community to get behind the team and support international hockey here in New Zealand, with matches broadcast live and free on TVNZ+, or by heading along to Auckland to experience world-class hockey in person.
Wellington Hockey would also like to congratulate Finn Ward and Brad Read on their selection in the Vantage Black Sticks Men’s squad for the 2026 FIH Hockey Men’s Nations Cup in Cape Town, South Africa, with the Black Sticks Men chasing a third consecutive Nations Cup title.
We are incredibly proud to see Wellington athletes continuing to perform on the international stage and wish them all the very best for their tournaments.
