The Junior Hockey League (JHL) kicks off today in Auckland, showcasing New Zealand’s top U21 talent in a fast-paced, five-day tournament. Wellington Hockey has athletes proudly represented across both Men and Women Falcons squads along with Lexie Etherington appointed as an umpire for the tournament.

We're excited to announce the Wellington Under 21 Trials for both Men’s and Women’s teams heading to Christchurch for the Matariki Weekend (June 20th-23rd). Trials will take place on April 2nd and 9th from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the National Hockey Stadium, with more details sent to those who register closer to the trial.

The Wellington Hockey U18 Trials kick off this Sunday, March 9th, at the National Hockey Stadium, with check-in from 8:30 AM. Players should register on PlayHQ, arrive early, and come prepared to give their best effort, with additional trial dates scheduled throughout March.

Wellington’s Masters teams performed exceptionally at the 2025 Vantage Masters Hockey Tournament, bringing home six medals and earning multiple selections to the New Zealand Masters Teams. With outstanding performances from players and officials, plus a well-attended community dinner, it was a fantastic week of hockey in Northland!

Congratulations to Riana Pho and the Vantage Black Sticks Women for their victory at the 2025 FIH Hockey Women's Nations Cup in Santiago, Chile, securing the title after a dramatic 4-2 shootout win over Ireland.

Riana Pho and Julia Gluyas represented New Zealand in the Black Sticks Women's Test Series against the USA in Auckland, with Julia making her debut. The series saw the Black Sticks secure a 1-0 win on Sunday and a 3-2 victory on Monday to claim the series.

Wellington Hockey is proud of the U18 Boys and U18 Girls teams who competed in the Super Indoor Hockey Challenge in Auckland. The tournament provided valuable experience for the players, and Wellington Hockey continues to support indoor hockey development.

Wellington has announced its Masters teams for the 2025 Vantage Masters Tournament in Whangarei, featuring five men's and three women's teams. With beautiful weather and top-notch hockey, the tournament will run from 23rd February to 1st March, and there are still spots available for players interested in joining.
