
Wellington Hockey is proud to announce the U21 Men’s and Women’s teams selected to represent the region at the 2025 Educare U21 Matariki Invitational, taking place in Christchurch over Matariki weekend from Friday 20th to Monday 23rd June.
The tournament brings together top U21 talent from across Aotearoa during the Matariki holiday. Both Wellington squads are looking forward to testing themselves against strong opposition in what promises to be a competitive and exciting weekend of hockey.

Wellington U16 Boys Presented with Playing Shirts Ahead of LNI Tournament
The Wellington U16 Boys received their playing shirts from local Wellington Representative Player Graeme Murrell, who spoke about the pride of representing the region. The team now travel to New Plymouth for the LNI U16 Tournament.

Wellington’s Riana Pho and Julia Gluyas will represent New Zealand in a two-match test series against the United States in Charlotte, North Carolina. Both matches will be streamed live and free on TVNZ+.

Wellington U18 Teams Set to Compete at National Tournament
Wellington Hockey U18 Men’s and Women’s teams are set to compete at the National U18 Tournament from 29 June to 5 July. The Men’s team will compete in Timaru, while the Women’s Gold and Black teams will play in North Harbour. The teams celebrated their shirt presentations this week and are proudly supported by sponsor AccountantsPlus.
