Join The Big Hit, a junior hockey give-it-a-go day at National Hockey Stadium in Wellington on 7 March. Fun, free, and open to all juniors.

Wellington Hockey is excited to welcome junior players and their families to The Big Hit, a nationwide hockey give-it-a-go day designed to introduce young people to the sport in a fun, relaxed environment.

Taking place on Saturday 7 March, The Big Hit will see the turf opened up at National Hockey Stadium for a morning of hockey activities. The session runs from 8:00am to 9:30am on Cello NHS 1 and is open to all junior players who are keen to give hockey a try.

Participants don’t need any prior experience or equipment, just bring yourself. All gear will be provided, and family and friends are encouraged to come along and enjoy the morning.

Whether it’s your first time picking up a stick or you’re curious to see what hockey is all about, The Big Hit is the perfect opportunity to try it, play it, and love it.
