Fun Sticks offers hockey for kids aged 5–6, focusing on fun, skills, and active play.

Get ready for Fun Sticks, a programme designed for kids aged 5-6 years (Years 1 & 2) to kickstart their journey in hockey! Whether they’re brand new to the game or have just started, this is the perfect introduction.

Fun Sticks focuses on building foundational movement and motor skills, setting kids up for a lifetime of sport.

With a strong emphasis on fun and creativity, your little ones will develop essential skills like running, dodging, and striking, all in a positive and supportive environment. The programme encourages self-exploration, keeping every child engaged through regular activity changes. Plus, we provide all the gear—sticks, balls, bibs, and more!

Running over 8 weeks during Term 2, Fun Sticks will be available at five HUBs across the Wellington Region. Sessions will be offered on Saturdays or mid-week, depending on your location.

For more information visit the Fun Sticks page on our website or register on PlayHQ.
