It was an exciting night of hockey at NHS as the Wellington U16 and U18 Summer Development teams took on the visiting Canadian U16 and U18 sides. Both matches showcased high-energy play, with strong performances from all teams.
The Wellington U16 girls secured a solid 4-1 victory, showing great teamwork and skill across the field. Meanwhile, the U18 match was a tightly contested battle, ending in a 3-3 draw. With the game going to a shootout, the Wellington girls held their nerve and came out on top. It was fantastic to see the girls making the most of this unique opportunity.
Following the matches, the two visiting teams gathered in the pavilion for a post-game dinner, with catering provided by The Grind Kitchen and Bar. It was an awesome evening where players, coaches and supporters came together.
The Canadian teams continue their NZ tour with more matches ahead, including games against two local school teams this afternoon at NHS from 4:30 PM. Be sure to head down and catch some more great hockey! 🇨🇦🏑
