Wellington hosted the Nations Cup Trophy Tour, including a Black Sticks skills session for the community.

Last Sunday, Wellington had the exciting opportunity to be part of the Nations Cup Trophy Tour, with the prestigious trophy making its way around the country thanks to Hockey New Zealand and Vantage.

As part of the tour, local school Aotea College were the lucky winners of the Vantage Stick Skills Roadie Giveaway, with the students rewarded with a high-energy skills session run by local Black Sticks players Finn Ward and Ri Pho.

The students had the unique chance to learn new skills directly from two of New Zealand’s top hockey players, inspiring them to continue developing their game and passion for hockey. It was a fantastic day that brought the excitement of international hockey into our local community and helped inspire the next generation of players.

We’re incredibly grateful to Hockey NZ and Vantage for including Wellington in the tour, and especially for giving our young athletes such a memorable experience.
