Wellington Hockey recently ran our first Hockey Without Limits programme, a new initiative designed to give people living with physical and intellectual disabilities the opportunity to play and enjoy hockey in a fun, supportive environment.
The day was a huge success, with 30 awesome participants getting involved, learning new skills, and sharing plenty of smiles on the turf!
This incredible initiative wouldn’t have been possible without the amazing support of the Halberg Foundation, College Sport Wellington, and funding from Tū Manawa Active Aotearoa.
We’re excited to build on this success and continue making hockey a sport for everyone.

After School Hockey Club Returns for Term 4
Wellington Hockey’s After School Hockey Club is back for Term 4, giving children in Years 1–6 the chance to learn and develop their hockey skills in a fun, supportive environment. With six-week programmes running at venues across Wellington, all equipment is provided and sessions are suitable for complete beginners through to existing junior players.
