Wellington Hockey’s popular After School Hockey Club is back for Term 1, 2026, with registrations now open for young players keen to hit the turf, learn new skills, and have fun with friends after school.
The six week programme is designed for children in Years 1–6 of all experience levels, from first time players to those wanting to sharpen their game ahead of the winter season. Sessions focus on core skills, small-sided games, and confidence on the ball, all in a positive and supportive environment.
The After School Hockey Club begins on 16 February 2026, with sessions offered across multiple venues around the region to make it easier for families to get involved:
Mondays at National Hockey Stadium (NHS)
Wednesdays in Upper Hutt and Porirua
Thursdays in Lower Hutt and Kelburn
Each session runs for 45 minutes and groups are split by age to ensure players are training and playing with others at a similar stage. All equipment can be provided if needed, so players just need sports gear, a drink bottle, and plenty of energy.
Parents and caregivers are encouraged to register early to secure their preferred venue and day.
Registrations are now open on PlayHQ: https://www.playhq.com/hockey-new-zealand/register/b28a6f
