
WHA is excited to announce, with the support of the Officials Advisory Group, an umpire development day for our JUMP umpires and for anyone else that are wanting to "JUMP" into umpiring. This is a practical and relaxed session for any secondary school students who are new to umpiring or just getting started with Year 7&8 or U15 games.
Date: Saturday 12th July
Time: 9:30am – 11:30am
Location: National Hockey Stadium
We’ll run through some of the key rules, positioning, how to use the whistle confidently, and give you a chance to ask questions. You’ll also get the chance to watch an Open Grade match and see how experienced umpires handle the game.

2026 National Masters Teams Announced
MAG and WHA are proud to announce the Masters teams selected to represent at the 2026 Vantage National Masters Tournament in North Harbour. The Masters community continues to grow, with both new and returning coaches on board. Congratulations to all selected players as preparations begin for February’s tournament.

Wellington Athletes Selected for 2025 Premier Hockey League
Wellington Hockey is proud to celebrate the selection of several local athletes named in the Falcons squads for the 2025 Premier Hockey League, with the season kicking off on 8 November. Fans can catch the action live when Wellington hosts a home double-header weekend at the National Hockey Stadium later in December.

Hockey Without Limits: A Day of Inclusion and Fun
Wellington Hockey’s first Hockey Without Limits programme was a huge success, giving 30 participants with physical and intellectual disabilities the chance to play, learn, and enjoy the game. This new initiative is proudly supported by the Halberg Foundation, College Sport Wellington, and Tū Manawa Active Aotearoa.
