Wellington athletes Julia Gluyas and Riana Pho have earned selection in the Vantage Black Sticks Women squad for the 2026 Summer of Hockey series in Dunedin, highlighting their continued development and impact at the highest level.

A group of Wellington athletes recently competed at the Nkosi Cup and PSI U18 Indoor Nationals in Cape Town, South Africa, representing New Zealand. The tours provided valuable high-level indoor hockey experience, highlighted by Max Ruffell being named Men’s Goalkeeper of the Tournament at the Nkosi Cup.

The Masters community continues to grow, with both new and returning coaches on board. Congratulations to all selected players as preparations begin for February’s tournament.

Wellington Hockey is proud to celebrate the selection of several local athletes named in the Falcons squads for the 2025 Premier Hockey League, with the season kicking off on 8 November. Riana Pho and Kate Fraser have been named in the Future Black Sticks U21 Women’s team for the Junior World Cup in Chile this December, a proud milestone for two talented young players from Wellington Hockey.
