Umpiring is a vital part of our sport. Wellington Hockey is looking to grow its umpires pool at all levels. Whether you’re an experienced umpire, new to the area or keen to start, Wellington Hockey can help you get into the game.

Junior Umpiring:
It’s never too early to get started and Wellington Hockey supports clubs and schools involved in the competition with training of your junior umpires.

​

Current senior umpires present the various courses available and appointed junior umpires receive feedback from various mentors at games throughout the season.

Club/School Umpire Education:
Wellington Hockey is committed to helping upskill club and school appointed umpires. Clubs and Schools can request various different courses to be presented to them. Email Regan Fricker at regan@wellingtonhockey.org.nz for further information.

Open Grade Appointed Umpires:
Wellington Hockey appoints umpires to various grades in the Open Grade competition. Appointed umpires take part in various development opportunities throughout the season.
