With a new season underway last weekend our open grade umpires got a fresh new look. Some suggested our umpires looked rather dapper with their new pink and black stripes, they certainly stand out in a crowd!
It was great to see so many familiar faces take to the field with whistles in hand and cards in pocket (mostly) on a beautiful autumn day. A big welcome to some new members to the team in pink (not sure that will stick), we hope you enjoyed your first weekend on the turf here in Wellington.
The umpire shirts are not only striking in colour, the ECOTEK range from Dynasty Sport is made from recycled plastic bottles. Each shirt is made up of 24 plastic bottles which we think is pretty cool!
