Youth Hockey - Under 18

Winter - Secondary School Competition (Years 9 - 13)

School teams compete in the winter season 11-a-side competition.  There are a range of grades to suit teams of varying abilities and mixed teams are able to enter in the boys' competition. Games are played week-nights, Tuesday to Friday.  See the Secondary Competition Handbook on the Competitions/Draws page of the website for further details.

Summer - 6-a-side Competition

Mixed school teams can participate in the Summer League 6-a-side competition - run for 6 weeks prior to Christmas each year and at venues around the region.  Further details are available on the Competitions/Draws page of the website.  6-a-side is offered at all venues in the region (National Hockey Stadium, Porirua (Elsdon), Lower Hutt (Fraser), Upper Hutt (Maidstone).

Representative Hockey

Wellington Hockey Association sends Wellington Under 15 and Under 18 Representative teams away each year to national competitions. Identified players in the Under 18 Age Group are given further opportunity to develop their skills through the Wellington Hockey Academy (details on the High Performance/Development/Camps pages of the website)

Development Programme
