Wellington College 1st XI Coach


Wellington College Hockey aims to build on its position as one of the leading hockey schools in New Zealand. Hockey at the school is organised by a Hockey Committee whose responsibilities extend from Years 9 to 13 and involve the management and nurturing of hockey at Wellington College. We had nearly 90 boys playing for the club this year, and the 1st XI finished a credible 9th at the Rankin Cup.


The Hockey Club values are centred around "striving for excellence" on and off the field and in all aspects of the game, whether supporting, playing or administering. Continuously improving is a given.


Therefore, in line with our values, the Wellington College Hockey Club are recruiting for a high performing Hockey Coach of the Wellington College 1st XI. At least a 2 year commitment is desired.


The successful applicant will be passionate about hockey, will coach and inspire a team of young athletes who are motivated, passionate and focused on success. You are expected to select and coach the 1st XI squad, establish the team culture and articulate the vision so the team plays to a high standard and reaches its potential. Fostering a winning culture, you will be supported by the Hockey Committee, strength and conditioning experts and team manager.


The Wellington College Hockey 1st XI play Friday night inter school matches, and attend two tournaments away each season, being the pre season ANZAC tournament in Hamilton and the end of season Rankin Cup.
