U11 In Season Development Programme Registrations Now Open

Wellington Hockey is pleased to be able to open registrations for the U11 In Season Development Programme (ISDP). The U11 ISDP is the first opportunity to be involved in a Wellington Hockey development programme that are offered at each age groups. Our ISDPs at U11, U13 & U15 have replaced traditional Rep Programmes allowing a development opportunity for anyone who seeks it.

The focus of each programme is to deliver quality training sessions to build on each players skills and game understanding before gaining the opportunity to test these at localized festivals. In 2022, we are offering the opportunity for players the option of joining the training sessions and attend the festival days or simply opt into the festival days during the term 2 school holidays.

This opportunity is open for all players in either Year 5 or 6 at school.

There are 4 training sessions that will take place on Sunday mornings at Kapiti, Elsdon, Hutt (Fraser Park) and NHS HUBs. There will be Wellington Hockey trainers delivering these sessions that have been designed in conjunction with Hockey New Zealand’s Player Development Framework, that Wellington Hockey has been strongly involved in helping develop. These trainers are current or former rep coaches or players. The dates for the training sessions are Sunday 29th May, 12th & 19th June & 3rd July. You will note there are no trainings over the public holiday weekends.

Training times;

Sundays at NHS, Elsdon & Fraser Park 9am - 10.30am

Sundays at Kapiti – 11.30am – 1pm

The festivals will be held on Saturday 9th July in Kapiti with the Fraser Park festival held over Saturday & Sunday 23rd & 24th July.

The programme cost is $110 which includes the training sessions, HUB t shirt and entry to the festivals.

Programme registration can be made here.

For entry to the festivals only is $70 which includes a HUB t shirt.

Festival registrations can be made here.

A full overview of the In Season Development Programme is available here.

This programme is a great development opportunity to upskill for the second half of the season and a great way for players to meet other players who may play for different clubs or schools.
