WELLINGTON HOCKEY - APPOINTED BOARD DIRECTORS (4)

We are looking for four appointed Board directors to join the WHA Board to ensure we achieve our strategic goals and make great Hockey experiences happen for the people of the Wellington Region. The WHA Board needs to provide excellent governance and is ultimately accountable to our Hockey community.
The Wellington Hockey Association (WHA) is responsible for administering and developing hockey in the Wellington region. The Board and staff of WHA are in the process of growing and developing participation in our sport with a future-focussed lens.
Ideal Applicant
Please consider these vacancies if you consider yourself to have the following attributes:
A thorough understanding of the role of governance and a Board, ideally you have had previous governance experience
A genuine passion for community, pathways and/ or high performance sport
An interest or involvement in Wellington Hockey is preferred but not essential
An Understanding of Regional Sports Organisations (RSOs) is preferred
Whilst not essential the Board would appreciate hearing from applicants with a finance background and/ or commercial background and/or Health and Safety expertise
A senior leadership background in a business or corporate with a broad range of networks and contacts would also be beneficial.
The Board generally meets a minimum of 10 times a year. Directors can expect to have tasks arising from meetings. There are five sub-committees, membership is optional but encouraged in your areas of interest:
Finance and Risk
Advisory Council
CEO Performance
Governance
Commercial
All appointed Directors are expected to make a minimum two-year commitment to this role. These are voluntary positions.
