2022 Fun Sticks Registrations Now Open


Wellington Hockey is pleased to announce registrations are open for FUN Sticks!


2022 FUN Sticks will see a focus on individuals foundational movement and motor skill development, helping build a young persons physical literacy, preparing them for sport. Hockey skills will be taught in fun, games based activities.

FUN Sticks is an 8 week hockey programme designed for children aged 5-6 years (school Year 1 & 2)

- An introduction to hockey with an emphasis on having fun

- An opportunity to develop fundamental skills - running, dodging, striking

- A positive and quality coaching environment

- Full involvement for all participants

- Regular changes of activities to maintain enthusiasm and interest

- A safe environment for all activities

- A FUN Sticks t-shirt

- Equipment required to play hockey (Hockey Stick & Ball provided by WHA to use for the session)

- We encourage parents to join in with kids if they want!

Where:

- National Hockey Stadium (NHS), Wellington = 10.00am - 11.00am - Saturday

- Hutt (Fraser Park) = 8.00am - 9.00am - Saturday

- Porirua (Elsdon Turf) = 3.45pm – 4.45pm - Tuesday

- Karori (Samuel Marsden School) = 4pm - 5pm - Tuesday

Registration information:

The cost for the 8 week programme is $65


FUN Sticks start the weekend of 7th May (first weekend of term 2).


Please Note: There are no postponement days scheduled (excluding the Festival day)

National Hockey Stadium:

Saturdays starting 7th May (10am - 11am)

Hutt - Fraser Park Small Turf:

Saturdays starting 7th May (8am - 9am)

Elsdon Turf:

Tuesdays starting 10th May (4pm - 5pm)


Karori – Samuel Marsden School

Tuesdays starting 10th May (4pm - 5pm)

Festival Day:

There will be a festival day held at the National Hockey Stadium on the morning of Saturday 9th July from 10am-11am. All children will be able to play games and activities with players from different HUBs.
