Kookaburra School Visits Programme

Jamie Coombes, a Sport Wellington Student Sports Ambassador will be conducting the Kookaburra School Visits Programme in 2008.

This year there will be three different types of School Visits. Please note the changes in the times Jamie is available.

Hockey Academy:

This will consist of three one-hour sessions. The first session involves the CoachForce Officer (Hemant Lala) working with coaches, where they will cover skills, techniques and how to run an effective training.

In the second session the Jamie will run the training with the teacher/coach as the assistant or observer.

The final session is a role reversal, where the teacher/coach will run the session and the Jamie will assist.

Sports Leadership Session:

This is a one-hour session that teaches the participants how to run a session at introducing hockey. Aimed at year 13 students as part of the Sports Leadership Programme.

One-off:

This is a one off training sessions where one or two specific skills are covered.

Due to Jamies university commitments he is only available to conduct these visits on Tuesdays 11am - 5pm and Fridays 9am - 1pm. Times outside this by prior appointment only.
